A deputy-in-training is being recognized for her bravery after stepping in to help during a dangerous crash in Birmingham.
Last week, Deputy Catly Itson, currently attending the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Academy, was heading home when she encountered a multi-vehicle accident on I-65 South, just north of downtown Birmingham. While traffic was stopped, one vehicle failed to brake, triggering a chain-reaction crash. Moments later, one of the vehicles caught fire.
Without hesitation, Itson rushed toward the scene. She helped pull the driver from the burning vehicle and assisted another व्यक्ति from a separate car involved in the collision. She then stayed on scene, checking on others and helping ensure their safety until Birmingham Police Department arrived—just before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames…
