$4.5M Mountain Brook mansion tops busy week of Birmingham home sales

Home sales took off last week with a whopping 214 homes sold in Jefferson County, up from 152 last week, officially bringing an end to the winter real estate rut.

Leading the way was an elegant 1928 mansion in Mountain Brook sold at $4.51 million. The property was listed by Stephanie Robinson of RealtySouth. The buyers were represented by Robinson and Katherine Allison, also of RealtySouth.

The home, located on Rockledge Road, was the first to be built on the street and has what the sellers call “soul, character and timeless appeal.”…
