Man charged with ramming into Jefferson County deputy’s patrol vehicle

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A man is accused of ramming his car into a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy’s patrol vehicle, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Jason Levi Moreland, 46, is charged with attempted assault and criminal mischief.

Moreland rammed into the deputy’s vehicle on April 4 in an attempt “to intentionally cause physical injury to prevent a peace officer… from performing a lawful duty,” according to court records…
