BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr and the Jefferson County Second Chance Hiring Fair are announcing another hiring fair and reflecting on the impact of the partnership since 2019.
According to Carr, he and the Jefferson County Second Chance Hiring Fair can report since 2019:
- 13 job fairs
- Over 3,000 job seekers
- Over 2,000 hires
- Over 100 employers
- Over $50,000 in potential economic impact.
“While we are excited about the progress, our task is not complete. Approximately 2,000 people reenter the workforce in Jefferson County after incarceration every year,” said Carr and the Jefferson County Second Chance Hiring Fair. “Each of them deserves an opportunity to secure employment to provide for their families and contribute to their communities. Our goal is to work together to bring them into the same room with great employers who believe in second chances.”…
