Arrest made after authorities say gunfire exchanged with deputies in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — A domestic violence call in Pinson escalated into a late-night shooting at deputies before ending with an arrest in the woods hours later, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect was identified as Triston Wilhite, 39. The sheriff’s office said Wilhite has been charged with domestic violence third degree (aggravated assault), discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, and attempted murder.
