Former Jefferson County jail nurse charged with conspiring to smuggle drugs to inmates

A former contract nurse at the Jefferson County Jail is facing three felony charges involving illegal contraband.

Michael Andrew McCorvey, 35, is charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and two counts of promoting prison contraband, according to court records.

McCorvey was booked into the Jefferson County Jail Tuesday and released the same day after posting $15,000 bond. He was previously jailed in February in connection with the same cases…
