2 killed in wrong way I-65 crash identified

SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Two people killed in a wrong way crash on I-65 Friday morning have been identified.

According to the Shelby County Coroner’s Office, 20-year-old Jesse Southhard, of Birmingham, was killed when the sedan he was driving was struck head-on by a truck traveling SB in the NB lanes of I-65 in Pelham. The crash occurred around 2:15 a.m.

The coroner said the driver of the truck, 37-year-old April Ballard, was also killed in the crash…
