‘Open for business, but there are extensive guardrails’: Birmingham weighs data center rules

New regulations for data centers in Birmingham aren’t yet finalized for future development, as the city council voted Tuesday to push its vote on the addition to its zoning policy.

But some residents and environmentalists praised what’s been proposed so far, while business leaders cautioned the city against negatively impacting its ability to attract more development.
