The Briarwood Christian Lions had an unlikely hero to win their second straight 6A Soccer title. Or maybe it was very likely, considering the solid team the Lions have fielded this year with the “team first” attitude.
Junior forward Coleson Gooch provided Briarwood with the winning “golden goal” Saturday afternoon at John Hunt Soccer Complex – punching a shot into the goal in the second overtime as the 2026 AHSAA State Soccer Championships ended.
