ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 53-year-old woman from North Lauderdale pleaded guilty to her role in a bank fraud scheme.
Renee Thompson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States. According to prosecutors, in April 2023, a company in Western New York mailed a $12,914 check to a vendor in Florida.
Prosecutors say Thompson or a co-conspirator stole that check and altered it, making it payable to Thompson. She later deposited the check into an account under her name…
