James Michael Bruneau, 28, was arrested July 7 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. According to the probable cause affidavit just obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, the confrontation began when a driver allegedly tailgated a white sedan into the gated garage at One Boynton. The sedan’s driver — later identified as Bruneau — stopped in the middle of the entrance, argued over a resident key card, then pulled out a black firearm and pointed it at the driver and his passenger. Both victims later told police they feared they would be shot and said the driver appeared to be drunk or under the influence.
Officers later found a white Audi with a warm hood parked on the fifth floor of the garage, matching the description victims gave and bearing Florida tag EBN6071. Officers searched him and found a black Glock 19 handgun, serial number AMAE522, in his front left pocket. Bruneau invoked his right to an attorney after being read his Miranda rights and declined to speak with investigators.
Bruneau was taken to Bethesda Hospital for medical clearance because he seemed to be intoxicated. He was later booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and eventually released on $20,000 bond. Lawyers, police, and alleged victims will now talk about Bruneau during a court date in August…
