Mother and daughter accused of filing false police report in Lake Worth Beach

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Lake Worth Beach woman and her mother are accused of filing a false police report regarding a former spouse, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, Danaisy Soria, 40, and her mother, Rita Ubals, 60, were arrested on false report and false statement charges. PBSO says that on Monday, Soria called law enforcement after claiming that her ex-husband, Peter Benjamin Pedro Mendez, pointed a gun at her on her home from Publix.

The affidavit says that Soria told deputies in a sworn recorded statement that while passing the trailer park homes on Barton Road, a white pickup truck with Mendez as a passenger pulled up alongside her vehicle. He then rolled down the window and yelled at Soria to pull over, or he was going to kill her, showing off a black handgun and telling them to stop the car…
