Coral Springs families who want their children to play travel soccer will have to pay more.
The Springs Soccer Club has established an agreement with the city for the new soccer team, and participants will have to pay a $400 registration fee to play travel or more competitive soccer. During the August 5 meeting, several residents said they were concerned about having to pay more to allow their children to play soccer at a higher level. They said some families might not be able to afford it.
Recreational sports are very popular in Coral Springs, and many children play in city basketball leagues, soccer, softball, and baseball leagues. The fees for the upcoming seasons have not changed and are still under discussion.
