A driver is in critical condition after his vehicle took a plunge into a Fort Lauderdale canal this afternoon. The Fort Lauderdale Police informed that the man was driving along the 5100 block of Northwest 33rd Avenue, when the vehicle veered off the road and became fully submerged in the canal around 12:15 p.m. Officers and fire rescue teams rushed to the scene, where they successfully extricated the driver from the drowned car.
