‘Do not try to rip me off,’ rages homeowner fined $927 by HOA for putting trash out – he’d gone 17 years with no warning

A HOMEOWNER was fined over $900 by his HOA for a minor trash violation that he received no warning about.

Wade Suckoo from Osceola County, Florida, is a resident of the Brighton Lakes Community Homeowner’s Association.

In 2021 while doing some gardening, Suckoo stuffed a number of trashbags full of garden waste and put them out on the curb for collection.

However, putting the trash out on the wrong day, a mistake we have all made, proved costly for Suckoo.

Under the rules of the HOA, garden waste should have been put out on the previous day.

As a result, he was later given a letter by the HOA’s attorneys demanding a payment of $927 despite having no warning that he had violated the rules.

Suckoo said he would have moved them if he was reminded of the rules.

The resident who had been a member of the community for around 17 years at that point called the situation “crazy” when he spoke to Click Orlando.
