Pembroke Pines Motorcyclist Dies in I-75 Early Morning Crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle collision on Interstate 75 in Pembroke Pines early Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 28-year-old man from Plantation, whose name has not been released pending notification of his next of kin, died at the scene, Local 10 News is reporting this afternoon.

Investigators are yet to formally release a full statement, but revealed that the accident occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. on the northbound lanes of I-75, just south of Pines Boulevard.

Speeding A Likely Factor – Investigators

Investigators believe the motorcyclist was traveling at a high speed when he struck the bumper of a Chevrolet Suburban from behind. The impact caused the motorcyclist to lose control and his Harley Davidson to overturn.

The Suburban came to a stop on the shoulder, while the second vehicle involved pulled over on the inside lane.

No one else was injured in the crash, according to Local 10 News.

Meanwhile, the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
