Coconut Creek Police Nab Confused Burglar Who Sought Help From Officer

Coconut Creek, FL – A Coconut Creek police officer arrested a burglary suspect who approached him for help while fleeing the scene of a crime.

Coconut Creek police apprehended a 24-year-old burglary suspect, Terry Jennings of Pompano Beach, in an unusual turn of events on Monday.

According to officials, Jennings approached a police officer sitting at a traffic light and asked for help.

However, the officer quickly determined Jennings was fleeing from a resident who had caught him attempting to break into their South Creek home.

A search of Jennings revealed stolen items believed to be from an unlocked car in the area.

A separate witness also reported seeing Jennings on their security camera attempting to enter a locked car.

Jennings now faces charges of car burglary and attempted car burglary.

He is currently being held at the Broward County Jail.
