Mother, daughter die in Boynton Beach crash; driver of speeding car faces criminal charges

BOYNTON BEACH — A 23-year-old Boynton Beach man is facing criminal charges after a mother and daughter died in a crash this week along Congress Avenue.

Marcia Pochette, 57, and Jenice Woods, 26, died at Delray Medical Center following the wreck Tuesday night at North Congress and Meadows Boulevard, near Meadows Park, police said.

Officers took Neoni Copeland into custody on Wednesday on two counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving death and one count of resisting arrest. He remained in the Palm Beach County Jail on Thursday with his bail set at $100,000. Copeland will be on house arrest in the event he posts bond.

Circuit Judge Donald Hafele ordered the county Public Defender’s Office to represent him. As a policy, the office does not comment on open cases.
