West Boca draws more business: Home decor store Homesense, Bar Bombay and more

One of West Boca’s most popular destinations is finalizing its offerings as the 13-acre shopping complex continues to draw in customers from across the region.

The plaza, which is situated off Glades Road, just east of U.S. 441, recently welcomed a new dining option on July 5 called Bar Bombay — described as a “high energy Indian Bar and restaurant” by Yes Hospitality Group in a statement — and also will bring in a homeware store called Homesense, possibly as early as late October, according to the construction company behind it, J. Raymond Construction.

Construction also is well underway for a Whole Foods Market, but a spokesperson for the grocery store declined to say when it would be completed and open to the public.

The Homesense will occupy a space originally intended for an upscale, 53,000-square-foot movie theater called Silverspot Cinema. This spot was set to be one of the plaza’s cornerstone projects until the COVID-19 pandemic halted construction and reduced the popularity of movie theaters in general, leading the Uptown Boca developers looking elsewhere for how to fill the space.
