Mother, daughter who died in Boynton Beach car crash remembered at funeral service

BOYNTON BEACH — Standing before a packed sanctuary at the Bible Church of God in Boynton Beach , Junel Pochette described his wife, Marcia, as a “gift from God.”

Pochette’s daughter, Jenice Woods, was remembered by her husband, Devin, for her “smile that lit up a room.”

Hundreds gathered at the church for a two-hour funeral service Saturday morning filled with prayer, song and moments of reflection as they remembered the lives of Marcia Pochette and Jenice Woods, who died July 30 in a two-vehicle crash that resulted in the arrest of a man whom investigators say was fleeing from police.

“It’s been hard for me,” Junel Pochette said. “July 30, my life was changed … Each day is like a dream for for me. But I ask God for strength.”

Pochette said he and Marcia would have celebrated their 33 rd anniversary in November.

The couple’s daughter was remembered for her passion for education, with one speaker describing her as a perfectionist when it came to school. Woods, a graduate of Boynton Beach High School and Florida Atlantic University, had recently accepted a teaching position at Renaissance Charter School.
