South Florida residents may be happy to learn that a popular Florida-based chain that specializes in New York-style bagels, Jeff’s Bagels Run, is expanding – to the tune of 30 new stores in the region.
About Jeff’s Bagel Run: This eatery began in central Florida. The owner was craving a New York bagel, but could not find one locally. As a result, he started making his own and that would eventually become a business owned and run by himself and his wife in 2019 – Jeff’s Bagel Run.
Their business model focuses on making small amounts slowly. Specifically, they make New York-style bagels in small batches, using “old world” techniques.
The eatery quickly became a chain and has expanded – mostly in central Florida. In addition to the first stores in Ocoee and College Park, the chain expanded to Clermont, and equity partner Justin Wetherill has told the Orlando Business Journal that the chain hopes to eventually open 25 more stores outside of central Florida.
A Winter Garden location earns 4.5 out of 5 stars on Yelp. Many praise the flavor of the bagels and friendly service. Some lament that the bagels are not toasted and that the store can run out of fan favorites. A reviewer named Elizabeth wrote, in part:
