The Bravo supermarket, located at 4809-B North Dixie Highway, is set to undergo a follow-up inspection on September 25, 2024, after several essential health violations were discovered during a recent inspection by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS).
According to state records, the initial inspection, conducted on September 11, 2024, uncovered various issues, including violations directly associated with food safety. Among the products noted with stop sale order were –cut watermelon, Pork ribs, cashew cookies, and raw shell eggs.
While many violations were corrected on-site, the ongoing issues from unresolved citations require further inspection to ensure full compliance.
Key Violations Identified
Several priority citations (P) were noted among the violations, which are directly linked to food safety issues. These include:
- Unsafe Food Temperatures: Several food items, including beef patties, pork shoulder, and other prepared foods, were found stored at unsafe temperatures below the required 135°F for hot foods and 41°F for cold foods. The affected items were either reheated or discarded on-site.
- Unsuitable Food Storage: Raw animal products, such as shell eggs and pork sausages, were stored in areas with ready-to-eat foods, posing health issues and food safety. This issue was corrected during the inspection.
- Unapproved and Mislabelled Food Products: Bags of cashew cookies, sourced from an unapproved manufacturer, were being sold without proper labeling or ingredient information. A stop-sale order was issued for these products.
- Handwashing and Sanitization Issues: Several handwashing sinks were blocked or incorrectly stocked with soap and drying devices, hindering proper food safety practices. These violations were corrected on-site.
