Palm Beach schools to reopen Friday after Thursday closure for Hurricane Helene

Students can expect to return to class Friday in Palm Beach.

Schools including Palm Beach Public Elementary School and Palm Beach Day Academy were closed Thursday as officials braced for potential effects from Hurricane Helene .

With minimal effects in our area from the storm as it continues to move north, schools will be open Friday.

The School District of Palm Beach County, which includes Palm Beach Public at 239 Cocoanut Row, sent a reminder to families about 5 p.m. Thursday. The district said that extracurricular activities, after-school programs, sports, school meetings and other on-campus events will resume normal operations.

Palm Beach Day Academy at 241 Seaview Ave. will reopen Friday as well, Head of School Fanning Hearon said.
