Local 10 News and Publix are set to celebrate the 11th annual Day of Giving on Friday, Nov. 8, aimed at supporting families in need across South Florida. This longstanding initiative has successfully collected over 110,000 pounds of non-perishable food since its inception in 2014, benefiting seven local nonprofit organizations in the tri-county area.
The Day of Giving on Friday, November 8, 2024, will kick off at 6 a.m. and continue until sundown, with Local 10 anchors and reporters greeting donors at selected Publix locations in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties.
They will be live on air, encouraging viewers to contribute much-needed food items.
“We are so blessed because we live in South Florida,” Louise Gigliotti, lead volunteer at Manna-Share-A-Meal, said on Local 10. “You never let us down.”
The organizations benefiting from this year’s event include Curley’s House, Harvest Drive, Joshua’s Heart, Make-A-Wish Veterans, Manna-Share-A-Meal, Star-of-the-Sea Foundation, and The Caring Place.
