FHP: Two 19-year-olds seriously hurt in one-vehicle wreck on New Year’s Eve in Woodville

Two 19-year-olds were seriously injured on New Year’s Eve when the pickup truck they were riding in crashed into trees along Woodville Highway in south Leon County and rolled over, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

One, a Crawfordville man, was driving and the other, a woman from Lake Worth, was a passenger. The FHP does not identify crash victims in news releases.

The patrol said the truck was southbound on Woodville Highway near Filmore Road around 9 p.m. “when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road where it struck several trees and rolled over.” Neither was wearing a seatbelt, FHP said.

Both the driver and passenger “were entrapped in the car and received serious but non-life threatening injuries,” the release said.

FHP said it was assisted by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Tallahassee Fire Department and Leon County EMS.
