Yesterday morning in downtown West Palm Beach was disrupted by a bomb threat that led to closures and evacuations. A 911 call received around 8:40 a.m. reported the presence of an explosive device in the parking lot of the West Palm Beach Police Department. WPTV reports that the caller simply stated, “There’s a bomb in your parking lot,” before disconnecting.
Authorities responded quickly, cordoning off the area from Banyan Boulevard to Clematis Street and from Rosemary Avenue to Sapodilla Avenue. The West Palm Beach Police headquarters was partially evacuated, and the nearby Sapodilla parking garage was closed. The all-clear was given around 3 p.m. after Bomb Squad technicians and police dogs thoroughly checked the area, as reported by Local 10.
The call, which disrupted both traffic and daily activities in downtown, was traced to a medical facility in West Palm Beach. This led to the arrest of 32-year-old Luke Joseph Cahill of Palm Beach County. By evening, Cahill was interviewed at police headquarters…
