A routine Tuesday afternoon took an unexpected turn in Boca Raton when a car backed up and crashed into a Chinese takeout restaurant, startling diners and passersby. According to BocaNewsNow, the vehicle, a dark blue Volkswagen Passat, was driven by a man in his 80s, who, along with his female passenger, suffered minor injuries. A teenage employee of the restaurant, however, sustained leg injuries when the car crashed through the glass wall of the establishment.
Witnesses at the scene and rescue sources indicated that the teen was near the window when the incident occurred. The teen suffered leg injuries but remained conscious and alert. The driver and his passenger were seen walking around after the crash, suggesting their injuries were not severe. Authorities have not yet determined if medical issues contributed to the accident or if charges will be filed.
