Animal Shelter’s Video of ‘Most Frightened Dogs’ Will Break Anyone’s Heart

Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the Humane Society of Broward County is very active on social media, working to find homes for the dogs and other animals currently in the shelter. Most of the videos are super cute, showing off and describing each dog’s personality. But in a video posted in mid-April, they featured four of their ‘most frightened’ residents, and it will break your heart.

The video shows clips introducing Nala, Apollo, Luna, and Tarzan, who are all terrified in their kennels and need extra support. You can tell by the look in their eyes and their flattened ears that they are anxious and uneasy. But there is a way you can help make them and other dogs like them feel a bit calmer.

The Humane Society explains in the video’s caption that there is something that can help these dogs feel better, “Calming collars release a pheromone that mimics the one mothers produce to soothe puppies and kittens, making pets feel safe and secure.”…
