$10,000 Reward Offered in Lauderdale Lakes for Information on Severe Abuse of Giant Schnauzer

In a grim discovery at Lauderdale Lakes, a female black Giant Schnauzer, now known as Bibi, was found in a severe state of neglect and abuse, leading local animal rescue Big Dog Ranch Rescue (BDRR) to offer a substantial $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the perpetrator. Bibi was brought to the rescue center on April 3 suffering from multiple injuries including broken ribs and spinal and hip damage, her emaciated body barely able to stand or walk without assistance; Lauree Simmons, the founder of BDRR said in a statement obtained by Local 10, “This is the worst case of animal cruelty we’ve ever seen yet”.

The young Schnauzer’s abhorrent condition indicated sustained abuse, an assessment supported by findings of both new and old injuries on her frame, despite her present upbeat demeanor, it’s hard to imagine the suffering Bibi has endured. Evidence of a shot wound from a pellet lodged in her chest was also found, Simmons explained in an interview with NBC Miami, “She was either punched or hit by something we feel intentionally, and also we found a pellet in her chest cavity, meaning she was shot.”

Simmons and her team at BDRR are committed to Bibi’s recuperation; her condition has notably improved, and she’s put on six pounds since being in their care, the tangible progress a testament to their efforts. As part of their campaign, “Justice for Bibi,” BDRR is working with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to identify the individual responsible for Bibi’s injuries, urging the public to come forward with any pertinent information to either Big Dog Ranch Rescue at 561-791-6465 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477…
