A tragic incident occurred in Palm Beach County on Thursday morning when a bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle whose driver suffered a medical episode. According to a report from CBS12, the accident took place at approximately 10 a.m. when 71-year-old Stephen Salansky was crossing Forest Hill Boulevard in a marked crosswalk. The vehicle involved, a 2023 Kia Carnival, crossed over the median and entered the opposing traffic lanes, subsequently striking Salansky and propelling him into the air.
Following the initial collision, the car, still out of control, hit a pedestrian crossing signal and a concrete pole before coming to a final stop on a grassy area beside the road. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office stated that Salansky, who came to rest behind the vehicle in the grass, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a report by BocaNewsNow. The next of kin has been notified.
