TAMARAC, Fla. (CBS12) — Two house cleaners are accused of cleaning up more than just dust from their clients in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO) said Oscar German Munoz, 61, and Martha Cecilia Molano, 57, both of Coral Springs, allegedly targeted elderly and affluent victims while posing as trusted house cleaners, but in reality, stealing jewelry, cash, and other valuables from their clients.
The investigation began in early April when detectives said an elderly couple in the Yardley community reported the theft of thousands of dollars in valuables. Surveillance footage showed Munoz and Molano waiting for the couple to leave, entering their home with cleaning supplies, and exiting shortly after.
Detectives executed a search warrant on May 5 at the suspects’ residence, recovering hundreds of stolen items, including necklaces, rings, watches, earrings, gems, coins, and cash. The investigation revealed a pattern of similar burglaries in the community, with the suspects reportedly selling stolen jewelry at pawn shops to fund lavish trips abroad…
