Lake Worth man accused of threatening deputy over internal affairs case outcome

LAKE WORTH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Lake Worth man, upset over the outcome of an internal affairs complaint, allegedly threatened a deputy to take matters into his own hands.

The story began on August 26, 2024, when deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) responded to a disturbance where 29-year-old Denny Lopez said a woman threw a glass at him, striking him in the head.

The woman reportedly told deputies that Lopez had attacked her, prompting her to throw the glass in self-defense. Surveillance from the scene showed the woman throwing the glass, however, it didn’t strike Lopez, giving the deputy no probable cause to arrest the woman…
