Bloods gang member from Boynton Beach sentenced to prison for illegal firearm possession

STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A confirmed member of the Bloods street gang has been sentenced to 90 months in federal prison after being caught with a loaded firearm, fentanyl, and other drugs during a traffic stop in Stuart.

Tyreek J. Clermont, 24, of Boynton Beach, was sentenced to 7.5 years behind bars on Tuesday in federal court after pleading guilty earlier this year to illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The sentence also includes three years of supervised release.

According to court records and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Clermont was pulled over on October 22, 2023, near Indian Street and South Kanner Highway. A deputy noticed Clermont smoking a marijuana cigarette, prompting a search of the vehicle. Inside, deputies found a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm semi-automatic handgun, 31.59 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, 1.58 grams of dimethylpentylone—a synthetic stimulant—and fentanyl…
