BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — The City of Boynton Beach has approved a $300,000 settlement with the family of Jayden Carlos Ethan Readon, a 5-year-old boy who was struck and killed by a fleeing driver during a police pursuit in 2016.
The settlement resolves a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Jayden’s parents, Corye H. Readon Sr. and Marisella Readon, against the city and Officer Mark Sohn. The agreement includes a general release of all claims and covers attorney’s fees and costs.
Jayden was walking with his great-grandparents and younger brother along Miner Road when he was hit by an SUV driven by Lex Eugene, who was fleeing police at high speed.
