RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Riviera Beach police are seeking first-degree murder charges for a 27-year-old in the ICU after he allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself.
At 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday, officers with the Riviera Beach Police Department (RBPD) were called to the Thousand Oaks gated community for reports of seven shots fired.
Witnesses told the responding officer that one person was shot and that the shooter had also shot himself.
Officers later detained the suspected shooter, 27-year-old Roberto Ernest Torres, and rushed him and the victim, 29-year-old Faith Nelson, to Saint Mary’s Medical Center’s Trauma Center. Around two hours later, Nelson succumbed to her injuries and died in the hospital…
