Residents were awoken by the sounds of what they presumed to be flash bombs, and were surprised by the intensity of the police presence. “I heard a bang and I thought it was a gunshot,” one resident told CBS12. “It was very loud you could feel it in your body and then you could see the flash in the sky go off.” Authorities have not confirmed the specific target of the Boca Raton raid, but its connection with the broader crackdown appears evident in the timing and approach of the agencies involved.
