Two Palm Beach County men arrested in statewide crackdown on Mongols motorcycle gang

Two Palm Beach County men are facing criminal charges following their alleged involvement in a fight and shootout between two rival motorcycle gangs in March outside a gas station in Central Florida.

Investigators took Steve Patino-Rangel, 43, of Loxahatchee and Kevin Koul, 34, of Boca Raton into custody July 2 as part of Operation Mongolian Beef, a multiagency effort that led to the arrests of 28 members of the Mongols biker gang.

Officers booked Patino-Rangel and Koul into the Palm Beach County Jail on out-of-county warrants. They are awaiting extradition to Volusia County, where investigators say they were involved in a brawl between rival gangs that led to gunfire outside a busy gas station in New Smyrna Beach, about 15 miles south of Daytona Beach…
