LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A rare and heartbreaking sight, stopping beachgoers in their tracks 4th of July weekend. Just steps from a busy beachfront restaurant, Benny’s on the Beach, in Lake Worth Beach, a whale washed ashore alive, injured, and struggling.
“When I saw that, I didn’t know what it was. I thought it would be a shark or a dolphin, but it didn’t look none of it. So I assume it was like a shark, maybe. But then talking to people there, no, no, that’s a baby whale,” Beach goer Paul Sosa said.
