DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A scam is making its way through the city of Delray Beach, this one involving the local law enforcement.
On Friday, the Delray Beach Police Department (DBPD) received multiple reports of a scam in which someone is using its phone number to call residents while pretending to be an officer or detective.
Police say the scammer will falsely claim that there are charges against the victim and that a warrant is out for their arrest. Fortunately, the callers who reached out to the police department did not fall victim to the scam…
