Palm Beach passes law that cracks down on contractors who violate rules

As part of a continuing effort to crackdown on mismanaged development projects, the Palm Beach Town Council has passed a law that would require property owners and contractors who violate construction ordinances to undergo increased oversight from town staff.

With little discussion, the council voted unanimously July 9 to pass a law that will require a building team to enter a construction management agreement if a project is hit with one strike under the town’s “Three Strike Rule,” which regulates building sites; if it’s found in violation of the building code; or if it incurs a stop-work order.
