Nurse to return home after hospital attack left her with every facial bone broken

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — The nurse who was attacked and severely beaten while on shift at HCA Florida Palms West is returning home on Friday after spending months in the hospital recovering.

At around 1:20 p.m. on February 18, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) deputies were dispatched to an aggravated battery incident in a third-floor patient room. When they arrived, deputies learned Stephen Scantlebury had brutally attacked the nurse.

PBSO reported that the nurse, Leelama Lal, was beaten so badly that every bone in her face had been broken. Her attacker, Scantlebury, was arrested shortly afterwards…
