A 2-year-old girl is currently being treated at Broward Health Medical Center after she nearly drowned in a hotel pool in Fort Lauderdale. The incident occurred yesterday evening at the Sheraton Suites Fort Lauderdale at Cypress Creek, as first reported by Local 10. According to the report, the emergency services were called to the scene after a distressing discovery led to an onlooker performing CPR on the child.
Authorities responded to the 911 call around 6:45 p.m., and upon arrival, they found the girl had been pulled from the water and was receiving ongoing CPR from a bystander. Local 10 informs that it took the first responders approximately four minutes to reach the hotel located on Cypress Creek Boulevard near I-95. The Fort Lauderdale Police and Fire Rescue teams swiftly took over the resuscitation efforts before the girl was transported to the hospital.
