(CBS12) — Two major boating emergencies in July prompted Boca Raton Fire Rescue to issue a renewed call for water safety, after crews responded to an overturned vessel and a multi-boat fire — both incidents highlighting the risks of recreational boating when safety measures are overlooked.
In the first case, Fire Rescue said five people were rescued from the water after their boat capsized. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, but officials say the outcome could have been far worse without swift emergency response.
