PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A 20-year-old Lantana man is accused of helping an accomplice defraud an elderly Palm Beach woman out of her property tax payment.
On March 4, Palm Beach Police Department (PBPD) officers were called to the 300 block of South Lake Drive in Palm Beach after reports of check fraud.
Upon arrival, officers met with the 81-year-old woman, who told officers that she wrote a check for $39,064 in November and made it payable to the tax collector in Palm Beach County, to pay for her property taxes…
