NYC man jailed for 2022 I-95 crash that killed 2 in South Florida; he was drunk and unlicensed: FHP

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A New York City man visiting South Florida in 2022 was drunk when he crashed on Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale, killing two of his passengers, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said he was also not supposed to be driving in the first place. Nick-Quan Francis, 30, of the Bronx, is now facing six felonies following his arrest in Queens, more than three years after the crash; records show he was booked into the Broward County jail on Tuesday.

Troopers said Francis, then 27, was driving a rented 2021 Honda Civic with three passengers and slammed it into an impact attenuator, killing two of them and injuring himself and the other passenger. The victims’ names were redacted from a publicly-available FHP report…
