Housing Crisis Workshop Planned for Residents, Homeless

(Fort Lauderdale, FL) — A homeless and housing crisis workshop is planned for Saturday, Sept. 6th at the library on Broward Boulevard starting at noon.

One of the organizers, Agustina Sklar — architect and chair of the Affordable Housing committee at the League of Women voters — says the vast majority of people cannot afford to live here.

“This is not a low-income crisis. The most recent data shows most renters are spending half of their income on housing.” She says renters need to earn more than $100,000 a year and home buyers need to earn more than $200,000 annually to live here…
