A Boca Raton woman was charged with DUI after allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road along Dixie Highway and nearly colliding with a police vehicle. She was additionally charged with driving drunk with a person under the age of 18 in the vehicle.
According to a police report, Sharon Rak, 63, was pulled over by a Boca Raton police sergeant on N. Dixie Highway, just south of Glades Road just after 9 p.m. Monday night. The report stated Rak was driving her black Acura northbound in the southbound lanes of the roadway, approaching the sergeant’s vehicle which was driving southbound in the correct direction. The sergeant activated his lights and sirens, which caused the driver of the Acura – later identified as Rak – to “cut across the lanes of travel” to get back to the proper lanes…
