Man faces attempted murder case after ShotSpotter Alert in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A 24-year-old man is facing multiple felonies, including attempted second-degree murder, following a shooting incident that was detected by ShotSpotter technology in downtown West Palm Beach.

The West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) said Jihaad Rameed Logan was arrested on October 1, after police responded to gunfire reported at 513 North Sapodilla Avenue. The incident was flagged by ShotSpotter, a gunfire detection system, which recorded two rounds fired at 8:52 a.m. on Sept. 21.

Upon arrival, officers were approached by the alleged victim, who identified Logan — known to her as “Jihaad” or “JJ” — as the shooter. The victim told officers that tensions escalated after a dispute at an apartment complex on Windsor Avenue. The victim stated she believed that Jihaad took money from her, and she threatened to “get her brothers”. The victim stated that this angered Jihaad, causing him to threaten to “pistol whip” her, but the incident was never reported…
