ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Deputies say a woman used a mother’s worst fear — losing her child — in an attempt to extort her former rehab roommate out of thousands of dollars.
Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) say they received reports that a woman, later identified as Amanda Dragone, was attempting to extort her former drug treatment center roommate.
According to the criminal probable cause affidavit, on Thursday morning, Dragone had texted the victim, stating, “I’m going to be at the clinic around 10 a.m. We need to talk. I highly recommend you be there. That’s all for now. Please don’t text back, either be there or don’t, if not, then I’ll know how to proceed.”…
