Driver arrested in Pompano Beach hit-and-run that killed bicyclist: BSO

A driver who killed a bicyclist in a hit-and-run in Pompano Beach earlier this month has been arrested, authorities said.

Sholom D. Marcus, 23, is facing a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving death in the Oct. 12 crash that left 40-year-old Joseph Henriquez dead, Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said in a news release Friday.

According to the BSO the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. as Henriquez was on his bicycle within the median break in the westbound lanes in the 2600 block of North Palm Aire Drive.

Marcus was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer that struck Henriquez from behind, propelling him off the bike and into the eastbound lanes of the roadway, officials said…
